Technical Sales Support Specialist

Job Profile:
Grant is currently looking to fill the role of Technical Sales Support Specialist. In this role you will be responsible for providing sales and technical support for the Automation products on Grant’s line card. In addition, this specialist will act as a liaison between Grant sales team and our customers.
This is a full-time position with a coverage area of Western PA, Eastern OH and Northern WV.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical support contact for the Grant sales team (Focus segments include PLC’s, HMI’s, VFDs, Communications and the supporting Software for each category)
- Provide customer sales support in the form of quotations and order management for key customer accounts
- Visit customer sites with, and independent of, the sales team
- Develop and maintain manufacturer contacts to jointly address customer technical and commercial needs
- Attend manufacturer trainings in alignment with automation specialist requirements
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Excellent Organizational and Communication skills
- Self-Motivated and Detail Oriented
- B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5-10 years’ experience with Automation and Control Systems in a sales or sales support role
- PLC Experience with any vendor is heavily desired, Experience with the Modicon offer a plus
- Experience with Electrical Drawings/Specifications
- Ability to Work in a Team Environment

Account Manager – Electrical, Controls & Automation Solutions

Position Overview
Grant Industrial Controls is seeking a results-driven Account Manager to support and grow our customer base across the Greater Pittsburgh region. This role focuses on identifying and developing turnkey electrical, control, and automation solutions, acting as a trusted advisor from concept through execution. The ideal candidate understands both the technical and commercial sides of industrial projects and thrives in a relationship-based, solutions-selling environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an assigned territory and customer base within Grant’s Pittsburgh territory
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with end users, OEMs, system integrators, contractors, and engineering firms
- Identify customer needs and opportunities encompassing:
- Control panels and automation systems
- PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial networking
- Design, build, integration, and value-added services
- Electrical distribution and power systems
- Collaborate with internal engineering, project management, drafting, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Maintain pipeline, opportunity tracking, and CRM logging
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and applicable codes and standards
- Align with and exceed Grant sales goals while maintaining high customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales or account management within the electrical, controls, or automation industry preferred
- Understanding of industrial electrical and automation systems (PLC platforms, controls, power distribution, etc.) required
- Proven ability in solution selling
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally within the Greater Pittsburgh area
Preferred (but not required)
- Experience with turnkey or value-added automation projects
- Familiarity with industrial standards such as UL 508A, NFPA 70/70E, and ISA best practices
- Background working with manufacturers, distributors, or system integrators

Electrical Drafting Technician / Electrical Designer

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Drafting Technician to support the design and documentation of electrical control panels. This role will focus on creating accurate electrical drawings based on provided bills of material (BOMs), specifications, and engineering direction. The ideal candidate has experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical CAD software and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and revise electrical control drawings based on provided BOMs and design requirements
- Develop schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable standards (UL 508A, NEC, customer specifications, etc.)
- Maintain organized and accurate drawing files and revision histories
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams to support build accuracy
- Assist with redlines, as-built drawings, and documentation updates
- Support standardization of drawings and templates as needed
Required Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or comparable electrical CAD software
- Understanding of industrial control panels and electrical components
- Ability to interpret bills of material, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with UL 508A control panel standards
- Experience drafting for industrial automation, OEMs, or electrical contractors
- Associate degree or technical training in electrical drafting, engineering technology, or related field
